The 2nd International Exhibition and Conference AUTOCOMP\ICTA held in LENEXPO Fairgrounds, St. Petersburg? completed its work on the 14th of March, 2008. The Exhibition target was to make new business contacts in the fields of car components and equipment production and supply for automobile industry.
The AUTOCOMP\ICTA Exhibition and Conference was for the 1st time held within the framework of the St. Petersburg Technical Fair 2008, which is the largest event in the North-West of Russia with a unique range of specialised industrial exhibitions. Market segments of all the exhibitions cooperate with each other creating a sole production process.
The Fair’s events were visited by 15 000 people and 94 per cent among them were specialists. 704 companies from 18 world countries, including collective expositions from India, Czech Republic and Croatia, demonstrated their products on the exhibition ground of 15 700 square meters.
AUTOCOMP\ICTA featured the Technologies and the State-of-the-Art Equipment for Car Components seminar within the framework of its business program. The representatives of Fiztekhpribor ZAO, GARO Group of Companies, Ostek ZAO, Promishlenniy Tekhnopark (Industrial Technopark), Proizvodstvennaya Basa (Production Base) and etc. made presentations at the seminar. All the participants of the seminar noticed the urgency of the exhibition-conference’s subject.
Some of the largest car manufacturers such as General Motors, Ford Motor Company ZAO, YAROVIT MOTORS Company worked within the framework of B2B meetings. There were over 40 meetings with the representatives of relevant regional companies, such as Elecond OJSC, Normative LLC Technical Company, Rifmet OOO, Chelyabinsk Forge-and-Press Plant, Combat Armoring Group, Kora Company. General Motors’s representative met the Uliyanovsk Oblast delegation headed by Vildan Zinnurov, Minister of Industry, Business and Labour Force in Ulyanovsk oblast and had a round of negotiations with the representatives of manufacturing enterprises of Uliyanovsk Oblast. More over there were some meetings between Indian delegations and the representatives of some large St. Petersburg companies, such as Kozitskiy Plant ZAO, Komsomolskaya Pravda Plastics Proceedings Science and Production Company, YAROVIT MOTORS Company. Having summarized the last meeting, a tour to the production site of YAROVIT MOTORS Company was organized for specialists from India. The representatives of the Pskov Oblast Administration, the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District Administration, as well as the participants from Moscow, Samara and Belgorod oblasts and the Republic of Tatarstan actively worked at the B2B meetings.
The Exhibition featured the General Motors and Jetro work-shop for car components, raw materials and technologies manufacturers held on the 13th of March. Kseniya Komyagina, Purchase Department Manager at General Motors plant in St. Petersburg told about the purchase system and their work with GM suppliers. Companies wishing to work with the Japanese manufacturers presented in the Russian market were able to get all the necessary information from Tetsue Umetsu, head of the Jetro Representative Office in St. Petersburg. 75 companies took part in the work-shop. The Tata Motors Car Company demonstrated its products within the framework of the Indian exposition.
According to specialists the Exhibition has become an important event in Russian automotive industry. The necessity of holding such an event is long overdue. The Russian automotive industry needs to discuss the development perspectives of the industry, especially one of its most important aspects – car components production and supply. So the exposition has presented both the necessity of high quality car components for the Russian automobile manufacturers and these car components manufacturers’ potential.
According to the results of this Exhibition, this subject is important both for the visitors and participants of the Exhibition. Therefore the organisers decided to expand the profile of the Exhibition and hold the AVTOPROM\ICTA Exhibition-Conference in 2009.
The AVTOPROM\ICTA Exhibition and Conference is an integrated event dedicated to equipment, technologies and finished goods for car and tractor manufacturers. The Exhibition will feature the whole cycle of car components production – from raw materials and supplies for production, equipment, technologies and engineering innovations to the finished product. Moreover, the profile of the Exhibition and Conference features complex solutions and system integration for automobile production, preproduction and industrial sites, supply logistics for car components manufacturing.
The AVTOPROM\ICTA Exhibition will be held jointly with the ST. PETERSBURG TECHNICAL FAIR, the leading Russian project in the field of metallurgy, mechanical engineering and industrial innovations. This will make give industry specialists a possibility to demonstrate the whole automobile production cycle from technology and equipment to the finished product for the industry specialists. This is the only exhibition format that makes it a unique event for the industry specialists.
